Trevor Latimore

ABOUT

Biography

Trevor Latimore has served as the Director of Bands at McDonough HS in McDonough, GA, since 2022. As a native of Augusta, Ga., Mr. Latimore began playing the drums for churches in Warrenton and Warthen, Ga., from 1st to 12th grade. In middle and high school, Mr. Latimore participated in the school's pep band, marching band, concert band, jazz band, and honor band ensembles. After graduating from The Academy of Richmond County HS in 2010, Mr. Latimore attended Alabama State University on a marching band and music major scholarship. At ASU, he was a member of the Mighty Marching Hornet band, concert and symphonic band, and trombone choir. In the fall of 2012, he was appointed Assistant Trombone Section Leader until the spring of 2014. In the spring of 2016, Mr. Latimore graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Arts in  Music degree. In December of 2024, he graduated from Piedmont University with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Music Education. Currently, he’s pursuing his Doctorate of Music Education degree at Liberty University. 


Mr. Latimore has taught instrumental music since 2016 in Birmingham, AL, Augusta, GA, and now in the Henry County School District. While at McDonough HS, the band program has achieved excellent and superior ratings at marching band competitions and Large Group Performance Evaluations.  Also, Mr. Latimore secured the school's first-ever band uniforms and acquired new instruments.


As an established arranger,  Mr. Latimore has arranged music for several high schools and community bands in Georgia and Alabama.  Mr. Latimore is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Education Association, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
