This November, the New Manchester High School Mighty Marching Jaguars will march through the streets of Washington, D.C. as part of the 2026 National Veterans Parade. For a band that has built its name on HBCU precision, Big-12 pageantry, and relentless community pride, this is the stage we have been working toward.

The National Veterans Parade draws bands, honor guards, and performers from across the country for one purpose: to honor the men and women who served. Being selected is not just a performance opportunity. It is a responsibility, and our students are ready to carry it with the excellence this program demands.

More than a band, we are ambassadors of Douglasville. Washington, D.C. is our next stage.

What This Trip Means for Our Students

For many of our students, this will be their first trip to the nation's capital. They will perform on a national platform, stand at memorials honoring veterans, and represent their school and community in front of audiences from across the country. That kind of experience cannot be replicated in a classroom or on a local football field.

Travel like this builds the kind of leaders, teammates, and citizens that the FAME Band Program has always aimed to develop. It broadens perspectives and deepens the sense of pride that already drives everything these students do on the field.

What We Need to Get There

Getting a full marching band to Washington, D.C. takes real resources. Travel, lodging, meals, uniform upkeep, and equipment transport all add up. Our Band Boosters have been working hard, but we need our community to show up the way our students always do: with everything they have.

Whether you give $20 or $4,000, your name is behind every note we play on that parade route. Individual donations are welcome through Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle. If your business is looking for a higher-visibility way to invest in our students, our sponsorship tiers start at $500 and include social media recognition, halftime presentations, and banner placement at the Annual Jaguar Classic.

Checks can be made payable to New Manchester High School Band Boosters and mailed to 4925 Highway 92, Douglasville, GA 30135. Questions? Reach us at 770-651-2765 or visit nmhsbands.com.
